Get to Know Tracie

Tracie McConnell joined Abacus CPAs in January 2023 as Administrative Support in our Springfield office. Tracie is an industrious and compassionate individual with a rich life journey that spans across different states. Born and raised in Indiana, she ventured to Michigan after high school, where she dedicated 12 years to education and teaching in Special Education. Driven by her love for the mountains, Tracie followed her heart to Colorado but unexpectedly fell in love with the Ozarks during a fishing trip on the James River. Within a few months, she made the decision to relocate to Missouri. Tracie’s educational pursuits led her to major in English and Elementary Education, with a minor in Logic, ultimately earning a BA from the University of Michigan-Flint.

Throughout her professional career, Tracie has embraced a strong work ethic, having worked full-time since her sophomore year in high school. While she spent the majority of the past three decades in management roles, Tracie realized her true passion lies in support roles, finding joy and fulfillment in helping and supporting her team. Family is of utmost importance to Tracie, as she and her husband embarked on a new chapter in 2019, getting married and moving to Missouri just five months later, deciding to embrace their dreams rather than wait for retirement. In her leisure time, Tracie and her husband indulge in hunting, fishing, and nurturing their expanding garden and collection of animals. Their shared love for history and primitive skills fuels their enjoyment of historical reenactments.
