[Springfield, MO – August 17, 2023] – Abacus CPAs, LLC is proud to celebrate Teri Wingo, Senior Director of Transportation, for her distinguished recognition as a 2023 Trusted Adviser in Accounting by the Springfield Business Journal. The 2023 class of Trusted Advisers honors 20 business professionals in a variety of industries.

Teri joined the firm in 2008 and now oversees the Transportation Department, which serves over 4,000 drivers. Teri became Director of the department in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Director in 2023.

“My primary responsibility is to oversee the Transportation Department, and my passion is being a trusted financial guide every step of the way for transportation professionals, from the beginning of their careers through retirement,” said Teri.

SBJ Trusted Advisers honor business professionals that help make their organization successful. The program is in its 10th year.

“To me, being a Trusted Adviser means to be driven by our ‘why,’ which is ‘people deserve better,” said Teri. “It’s crucial to me that our drivers know they matter,  we recognize their sacrifices and that they are appreciated. I strive to ensure they don’t feel stressed as small business owners about their finances or tax needs. Knowing that I’ve accomplished this brings a sense of fulfillment in my role.”

Teri also helps lead the Abacus Volunteer and Impact Committee, which create opportunities for the firm to give back to local organizations through both time and resources. She is an active volunteer in the community and has served through PTA, CASA, Ozarks Food Harvest, Child Advocacy Center, Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, Ambassadors for Children, and the Ronald McDonald House.

Teri is the fifth Abacus employee to be selected as a Trusted Adviser. SBJ will celebrate this year’s honorees Sept. 29.
