Abacus CPAs, LLC is eager to announce the promotion of Sabrena Shipley to Consultant in the Traditional Tax, Audit & Accounting Department. Shipley began as an intern in the Transportation Department in January 2018.
Shipley received her Masters of Accountancy from Missouri State University in December 2019 and moved into a full-time role as a tax analyst in the Traditional Department. She was a Senior Tax Analyst before becoming a Consultant. Shipley now leads audit meetings, manages projects and mentors staff. She also leads the 1099 process.
“I’m finding that I’m managing more projects and delegating things to other people to give them a chance to learn and lead,” Shipley said. “A lot of the things I am doing are leading in some capacity and becoming a mentor instead of a mentee.”
Moving forward, Shipley wants to expand her leadership skills and grow within the department.
“I am looking forward to taking more leadership opportunities, getting to manage more projects and creating the processes or procedures,” she said. “I will learn enough information to take charge, be a leader and be trusted to do these things.”
