Abacus CPAs, LLC is happy to announce the promotion of Sandy Dake to Senior Associate in the Transportation Department. Dake began at Abacus in January 2020 – the beginning of tax season – as a tax preparer.
Dake has a diploma from Metro Business College in data processing and brought in payroll experience. She soon realized that data entry is the direction she wanted to shift her career. She transitioned to accounting for the Transportation Department where she entered data, including cash expense records and client income settlements for drivers for tax returns and was promoted to Senior Associate. In addition to these responsibilities, Dake also processes payroll for S Corp drivers and prepares quarterly payroll returns and tax documents.
“When I started here, I was looking for something that I can be at long term and that I am able to grow and advance in. I know I’m at a great company,” Dake said.
Dake wants to develop as a supervisor in order to mentor others on good leadership skills to become supervisors themselves. She wants to prepare those around her for success.
“I want to help and train other employees by explaining instructions to them in clarity so they understand what they are being trained to do or not to do,” Dake said. “Then, they can actually share with others that clear expectation they were shown and told.”
